 Happy Birthday Dilla!!!  It’s hard for me to say much without writing for the next few days without rest.  Dilla is a hero to me.  Not only because he made some of the best music I have ever heard in my life, but because this dude put his heart and soul into his music on a level virtually no one can say they have.  Dilla’s standards were unmatched and he did not compromise. Dilla was as original as an artist gets.  He had an unmistakable signature sound. Dilla brought out the best in every artist he worked with.  I never had the pleasure to work with Dilla, but you can hear in his music how he and whoever he worked with were one with the music and freely expressed themselves without worrying about anything other than if it felt right. That’s the thing… Dilla did what he felt and his feelings ran deep.  He was an extremely passionate individual who followed that passion to the end.  Nothing could be more honorable, respectable, and appropriate for this blog.   Non-intentionally, this blog has continued to carry an underlying theme of following your dreams, your passions, and staying true to yourself.  J Dilla is the ultimate ambassador for that theme.
