R.I.P. Buddy Miles (September 5, 1947 – February 26, 2008)

Buddy Miles passed away Tuesday from congestive heart failure. Buddy was an amazing artist. He came up playing with Jimmy Hendrix in his “Band of Gypsys” from 1969 to Jimmy’s death in 1970. Buddy then went on to play with a few other bands, one of which was the Delfonics as well as a number of recordings on his own. I sampled a bunch of Buddy Miles back in my beat making days and I still play his records regularly.
