Y’all wanna hear some beautiful shit?
Read This. Kovar wrote what I found to be a refreshingly genuine story about discovering Dilla.
I’m sitting here bouncing one track at a time of each of The Green Album tracks so I can get them to Haircut to mix and master, listening to KT’s beat CD, spacin’ of my girl Tif’s blunt she just smoked with me, and I find that post from Kovar’s blog while checking incoming links to the blog.
There’s no question that today, Dilla has become a fall-back favorite. A lot of people are shouting Dilla cuz there’s no argument to it. No one’s gonna tell you that you’re wrong. But it’s not the same as truly appreciating the man, the passion and soul he poured into his music, the originality, swagger, honesty, quality control, and pureness of the man.
Anyways, Kovar’s story is a good read. Peace.
