Artist Spotlight – Skye Walker

I love what comes out of this blog some times.

Skye Walker is a really dope artist that I recently became aware of and a fan of.  I wanted to do an Artist Spotlight on him this morning, but couldn’t copy/paste any of his artwork, so I ended up doing the Mike Maxwell piece below.

I did however email Skye and asked him if he could send me some artwork and a bio.

Well… the rest is history.  He’s a really cool dude and I think we might go surf together some time.  Say word.

“I was born in Big Bear, CA- but I’ve lived all over the US. My whole family is creative and the art bug hit me early as a kid. It’s all I ever wanted to do. I went to  Oregon State University on an art scholarship and graduated in 2001 and moved back to Southern California to work, surf and create art.
I’m a graphic designer/art director for work- but painting & drawing is my true passion. Most of my work is based upon the figure. I am fascinated by the human condition and how we evolve and change with the ever changing environment around us. Humans, animals and the planet are in a constant change of flux with the advent of technology, and sometimes it’s hard to stay in touch with what is real and organic in life. It is these elements that are a basis for the work I create.” – Skye Walker
