On-Point TV – José James (interview)

My homey Alex from On-Point.be put this video together.  He did a great job and the video is a great look into Jose’s life, past, and how he got to where he is now.  Enjoy.

His debut album ‘The Dreamer’ put vocal jazz right back on the map.

 

The original idea was to make an album based on John Coltrane’s music. The album hasn’t seen light yet, but it did bring mr. James in contact with Flying Lotus - a relative to the late Alice Coltrane.

The two teamed up, an album is in the making, the first release was the flipside of the Parkbench People single: Visions of Violet (which you hear in the outro of the video).
