Bullion is an incredibly talented young producer from London that is right near the very top of my list of people to check for.  I’m sayin’… he’s up there with Dam Funk, Polyspectra, 4one Funk (special on them coming very soon), Noelle Scaggs & Robin Hannibal, Lab Techs production, and maybe a couple others that barely make the elite list.

Bullion is NASTY!  I wanted to give this guy a proper introduction (above), but I think that I’ll just let the music do the talking now.

Late last year, I believe it was, (before this blog) Bullion blessed the world with an incredibly creative project called Pet Sounds: in the Key of Dee.

The project combined The Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” with some samples of Dilla’s work.  The project is pretty incredible and something that really stood out to me, was the he didn’t borrow any of Dilla’s drums.  They are all original drums.  In a world today where “biting” has become regular practice (ref. Pete Rock calls out Kanye West and others for being lazy), it’s that much more official when a producer stays “true to the game.”
