Eero Anttila & a drawn out parallel between the Netherlands & Michigan

This kid is really good!  Really good.

 

Let me tell you about my experience with kids named Eero and kids from the Netherlands in general (I’ll try to make it short… try)

I worked for Rossignol Snowboards for 5 years and use to run their Mt. Hood program.  I got to know a lot of cool cats and stupid good snowboarders.  This one kid that rode for Rossi, Eero Niemela, was probably 16 when I met him.  His style was soo natural and smooth.  Then I find out he has a best friend named Eero Ettela.  Both from Finland.  These two kids are still ruling it today.

What I noticed, is that kids from the Netherlands has SUPER good style.  All of them.  MUCH like the kids from Michigan!  You won’t know the names, but kids that came out of Alpine Valley, MI had the dopest style I’ve seen to this day.  Both Michigan and Finnish riders has shitty ass hills to snowboard on.  Small LANDFILLS that got super icy and sketchy, but the best style came out of there.

Let me take it a step further now as I am CONSTANTLY finding some of the dopest “style” producers from the Netherlands, MUCH like Michigan’s producers.

Without getting into it, let me wrap this up with saying that there is something with the cold climate and similar conditions that breads STYLE and work ethic.  You just don’t have time to grind and practice when the whether is always sunny and conditions are perfect.
