Town (skate) Park in Oakland – benefit, Hood Games, and other freshness
Very cool. Especially if you’re in the Bay Area, you should do what you can to help. If someone wants to pay for a train ticket and some food, I’m there. Holla.
Keith “K Dub” Williams his friends from the Hood Games have spent the last ten months deconstructing ramps, moving and building Oakland, California’s skatepark “Town Park.” They still have a long way to go and need a lot of help and funding. So they’re hosting a benefit show on Thursday, September 4th from 6-9pm at the Air Lounge in downtown Oakland. This is a chance for all skaters to join the movement, make a contribution, and say that they had something to do with making this dream a reality for the skaters of Oakland and greater Bay Area. - SKATEDAILY
That’s only the half. Check out this video to hear K Dub talk about the park, the history behind it, and it’s future plans. Very very fresh!
Here’s a bit older video that shows some of the building of the park
